Here's exactly what we've tested on real batteries — and what we haven't. If your battery is on the verified list, it works today.

How it connects

Plugs into the RS485 port on your BMS — the same kind of port your inverter uses. Your BMS has two, so this doesn't take the one your inverter needs.

No soldering, no opening the battery, no PC. Once it's plugged in and on your WiFi, you're done.

What you can see

  • Pack voltage, current, power, State of Charge
  • All 16 individual cell voltages + imbalance
  • 5 temperature sensors + MOSFET temperature
  • State of Health, cycle count, remaining & full charge capacity
  • Balancing current and per-cell wire resistance
  • Charge/discharge MOSFET state and every BMS alarm flag
Technical details

Communication is RS485 Modbus RTU at 115200 baud over the BMS's RJ45 port, polled continuously. The PB series exposes RS485 only — there's no usable TTL or GPS port on this family — so the monitor includes the RS485 interface hardware needed to talk to it.

Popular on DIY builds. Wiring is simple, but each brand speaks its own data format that has to be added.

Why the list is short. Every battery brand reports its data differently, so "it has the right port" doesn't mean "it reads your battery". We'd rather show you a short list we've actually tested than a long one you find out is wrong after buying.

Common questions

You need a JK PB battery with a free RS485 port and 2.4 GHz WiFi where the battery lives. The monitor handles the rest — everything needed to talk to the BMS is built in.

Often, yes — usually it's a software update on our side rather than different hardware. Tell us the exact model and we'll give you a straight answer on whether we can support it and roughly when.

No. Your BMS has two RS485 ports so more than one thing can be connected at once — the monitor uses the spare one and leaves your inverter alone. It only reads; it never sends commands to your battery.

No, and that's deliberate. ioVertex is read-only — it monitors and alerts. Charge/discharge limits, balancing and protection settings stay under your BMS's own control, where they belong.

Your battery keeps protecting itself either way — that's the BMS's job and it doesn't depend on us. The monitor reconnects by itself and picks up where it left off once WiFi is back.
